Motorboat Rental on the Costa Brava with Licence
Explore the Costa Brava · Cap de Creus Natural Park · Departure from Santa Margarita
The northern Costa Brava stretches from Roses to the French border passing through Cap de Creus — one of the most spectacular and unspoilt coastlines of the Mediterranean. With a powerful motorboat and a nautical licence, you can explore this terrain at your own pace: wild coves accessible only from the sea, dramatic volcanic formations and crystal-clear waters. Departing from the Marina de Santa Margarita puts you in a privileged spot, kilometres from the nearest busy marina.
Motorboat routes on the Costa Brava from Roses
These are some of the routes our customers most enjoy. With a licensed motorboat from Santa Margarita the options are nearly limitless — these are just our starting recommendations.
Classic route: Roses to Cap de Creus
The star route from Santa Margarita. Head north from the bay, pass Cala Montjoi, Cala Culip and reach the lighthouse at Cap de Creus — the easternmost point of the Iberian Peninsula. Return route following the coast stops at whichever coves catch your eye.
Half-day route: Northern coves
Perfect for a relaxed morning. Head towards Cala Canyelles and continue north to Cala Almadraba. At each stop you can anchor, swim and snorkel before heading back in time for lunch.
Sunset route: Bay of Roses southwards
For late afternoon and sunset. Head south through the bay towards Empuriabrava. Return with the sun setting behind the Pyrenees — one of the most spectacular views you will find anywhere on the Costa Brava.

Cap de Creus: the lighthouse at the end of the Pyrenees
Cap de Creus is the eastern end of the Pyrenees mountain range — where the mountains meet the sea. The landscape is unlike anywhere else on the Iberian Peninsula: volcanic rock sculpted by millennia of wind, sea-only coves and waters of extraordinary clarity.
The Cap de Creus Natural Park occupies a vast area of coastline that is largely inaccessible by land. By motorboat from Santa Margarita, you can explore this territory in about 45–60 minutes. It is one of the most spectacular experiences available on the entire Costa Brava.
Several of the park's most sought-after coves — Cala Culip, Cala Guilola, Cala Tamariu de Cap de Creus — are only reachable by sea. You need a licensed motorboat powerful enough to handle the open-water passage from Roses.
